Counseling and Coaching are available through Life Center with experienced counselors and certified coaches.
The Life Center provides individual and family counseling for victims of traumatic loss or survivors of crime incident. Specifically, those victims of Homicide, DUI, Hit and Run, Robbery, Sexual Assault, Physical Assault, Domestic Violence, Domestic Terrorism, Hate Crimes, and many more. We are able to provide these services free of charge for Victims of Crime (VOCA) through a State of Florida VOCA grant.
Finding a supportive place where some of the deepest and most painful issues of life are explored with professionally trained staff can make an immeasurable difference in working through traumas and losses. Individuals ($75) and Families (3+, $100) are motivated to change their perceptions through therapeutic techniques that help to reduce the fear, panic, anger, anxiety and somatic symptoms often associated with post-traumatic stress, due to traumatic death, illness or etc.
The LIFE Center's Ünderserved Program began in November of 2018 and was implemented to cover the cost of grief counseling for those who have difficulty affording our rates and have lost a loved one to suicide, vehicular accident, or illness. It is a part of our heritage to offer free services and we are happy to be able to extend this service to our community again.
Workshop and Group participation encourages members to develop strategies for changing beliefs and behaviors, to live more productively, and to improve social functioning. Through interaction with trained staff, they learn to support one another through the stages of grief and recovery. Their sharing may heal the pain and isolation of loss.
Our grief and trauma groups specialize in the nature of the loss or trauma, nature of your relationship to the deceased, and age range.
